Perspective.

This past weekend I was able to go visit Amy in Colorado Springs :) We played in the mountains, ate good food, and went on a endless quest for the perfect pair of cowboy boots. I also got a tour of Fort Carson Middle School, where Amy teaches 7th grade math. Her classroom was adorable and I know Amy is a great teacher who genuinely cares about her kids. 7th grade is definitely not an easy grade and it is made even more challenging by the fact that many of her kids come and go (they come from military families that are transferred to different bases all the time). Still, I know without a doubt that Amy is making a big difference in the lives of these kids and it was awesome to get to see a bit of her life out there.

While in Colorado Springs, Amy and I received some tragic news from our friend Rachel. Her 20-yr-old brother Aaron (our former neighbor and friend) was killed in a car accident. This news was shocking and heartbreaking. The testimony from the family is amazing. In the midst of this unthinkable tragedy, they are thankful that they know where Aaron is. They are also honoring Aarons request to be an organ donor and saving lives of others through this. As I reflect on this tragedy, I find it so hard to see God's will. Still, I will pray.
